Private Lands Partners Day

Over 60% of the land in the United States is privately owned. Even in a state like Nevada where the percentage of privately owned land is small, the privately-owned land is often the most agriculturally productive as well as critically important to wildlife and fisheries. In many parts of the country, landowners have developed partnerships with federal, state, local government agencies as well as nonprofit organizations to meet commonly held natural resource goals.  Since 2008, Private Lands Partners Day has been the only national meeting dedicated to celebrating and learning about these public-private partnerships and the people and organizations engaged in them.  The meeting has grown from 30 to over 200 attendees and has been held in a different state each year showcasing natural resource conservation partnerships from Maine to California and from Montana to Florida.  Check out the Resources page for reports on recent Private Lands Partners Day events.
