Partnerscapes, along with the leadership of landowners and partners from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Partners for Fish and Wildlife and Refuges), Coastal Prairies Grazing Lands Coalition, The Nature Conservancy, USDA-NRCS, and the Texas Agricultural Land Trust, planned and delivered a partnership forum in and around the Refugio-Goliad Prairie at the end of July. Around 30 people, including landowners and staff from a broad range of agency and organizational partners met for two days to discuss challenges and opportunities related to agricultural-conservation partnerships in a rapidly changing but extremely important (economically, historically, and ecologically) landscape that serves as the last home for the Attwater’s Prairie Chicken and wintering Whooping Crane. Look for a report on the discussions soon in this newsletter and at the Partnerscapes Conservation Network Facebook page.
