Over the summer this year, Partnerscapes conducted a survey of collaborative conservation efforts in eight western states. Of the estimated 400+ collaborative efforts across the West, we surveyed 270 collaborative efforts and heard back from 87 groups working together to address natural resource challenges in this region. The survey sought to learn more about how these efforts are organized, what perspectives are participating, what they are working on, what they are accomplishing and how they are evaluating their progress. It was also hoped that we would gather lessons learned and other insights that could help other collaborative efforts and those landscapes where partners are considering new multi-perspective partnership efforts.
We are pleased to release our report, Perspectives on Collaborative Conservation, summarizing what we learned about collaboratives, their accomplishments and how they are evaluating their efforts and sharing with others. A printed version of the report will be available in the near future, but feel free to share the electronic version broadly.
In October, Partnerscapes also hosted a Zoom panel presenting an overview of the results and a panel of several of the collaborations that participated in the survey. A recording of that presentation, panel and Q & A can be found on our YouTube channel.
