Regenerating Kansas Grazing Lands Through Collaboration and Stewardship
The Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition (KGLC) is committed to regenerating Kansas grazing land resources through cooperative management, sound economics, ecological stewardship, production-focused strategies, education, and technical assistance. Our work is grounded in the belief that healthy grazing lands support thriving ranching operations, resilient ecosystems, and strong rural communities. By bringing together landowners, producers, and conservation partners, KGLC creates opportunities for collaboration that enhance both the land and the livelihoods that depend on it.
KGLC offers a variety of hands-on workshops, field days, and learning opportunities focused on practical topics like prescribed burning, grazing strategies, brush management, and soil health. These events are designed for producers at all experience levels and provide access to expert knowledge and peer-to-peer learning. Our programs are shaped by real-world challenges and focused on solutions that work on Kansas grasslands. Whether you are managing native prairie, mixed-grass pasture, or transitioning land, our workshops offer tools and insight that help you succeed.
In addition to education, KGLC works at the community level to promote long-term grassland health and sustainability. We partner with local leaders, agencies, and organizations to provide mentorship, support youth involvement in agriculture, and connect producers with technical and financial resources. Through these efforts, KGLC helps ensure Kansas grazing lands remain productive, diverse, and well-managed — by doing so, it preserves a vital part of our state’s heritage and economy for future generations.
