Rooted in Community, Growing Conservation
Winnett ACES (Agricultural Community Enhancement and Sustainability) is a locally-driven initiative empowering rural resilience and conservation in Central Montana. With deep roots in Petroleum County, the organization blends community development with land stewardship to strengthen both the people and the prairie.
From revitalizing historic buildings and launching local daycare services to improving native rangelands and restoring soil health, Winnett ACES approaches conservation with a whole-community mindset. Their Beef in the School program, Jam Sessions, and support for local businesses reflect their mission to build cultural and economic vitality alongside ecological health.
With a conservation model grounded in the Working Lands for Wildlife framework, Winnett ACES works hand-in-hand with ranchers to implement voluntary conservation practices that preserve habitat, sequester carbon, and keep Montana’s grasslands intact and productive.
