U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s – Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program

NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

The Partnerscapes Blog by Steve Jester

The Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program (Partners Program or PFW) is the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s private lands program. The Partners Program voluntarily works with private landowners and a broad array of conservation partners to deliver conservation on private working lands across the United States. Since the Program’s inception in 1987, over 50,000 landowners have worked with Partners staff to complete 60,000 habitat conservation projects on 7 million acres. Here is a short video highlighting the PFW’s accomplishments on its 35th anniversary and an infographic quickly summarizing the legacy of accomplishment and positive economic impact nationally.

When Partnerscapes asks what we can do to be helpful to further voluntary and collaborative conservation, we are asked to share the story of how landowners, partners, and communities are accomplishing great things together. If you have worked with or have experience with the Partners Program and are concerned about the future of the program, we encourage you to reach out and share your personal story with the Secretary of the Interior and nominated Director of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Addresses found below.

The work landowners and Partners staff do together is important, both to individual landowners and our nation. Your personal story is a critical part of the PFW story. We would also be honored to collect individual stories and share more broadly with leadership and beyond. You can email your story to info@partnerscapes.org and let us know if it is OK to share your name and state!
